HRHeadStart: Invitation for Mentorship Program

Hello there,

I hope everyone is gearing up for the year-end holidays. I will be taking a break from writing this newsletter and will restart in January. A big Thank You to everyone who has given me feedback over the course of the year and helped my work reach more people.

Earlier this year, I offered personalized mentoring support to young people who were motivated to make progress in their careers and achieve success in their lives. I worked with four individuals over the last several months and received some positive feedback:

“…a very helpful and approachable mentor since day 1. He guided me to navigate workplace issues and offered personal experiences and honest advice. He listened closely, followed up and made sure I learnt something from the mentoring opportunity.”

“…showed hands-on involvement in helping me develop HR plans for my small organization and working with business stakeholders.”

“…I really appreciated the coaching provided to unlock my mindset and build up confidence to be a great presenter.”

I am now inviting mentorship applications for the next batch. Starting in 2023, I intend to work with 3-4 people for a few months to mentor them on areas that would be valuable to them. It could be about specific HR skills, careers, interpersonal effectiveness, building presence (physical or social), starting a business or any other topic that’s meaningful to you.

You just need to meet the following simple criteria:

• Currently a HR student or a HR professional with less than 5 years of experience or someone who has transitioned into HR from another business function.

• Your physical location, academic grades, professional background etc. don’t matter, but your motivation to learn, grow and make an impact does.

You can reply back to this email with a brief description of your profile, the topic(s) you are interested to be mentored on and what would you like to gain from the mentoring relationship.
